Goin' Mobile!

We brought Theo (aka Theodora, Dora the Explora or "THE ONE") home on Saturday. I've been attempting to create a blog post, since then but blogger continues to refuse to cooperate.

Theo is a 1988 Jayco, on an E350 chassis with a 460 engine. She shows normal wear, but has been very well maintained. I don't love the floor plan. But, I like it better than the other option (staying in dirtville)

Included in the sale were 6 new tires, 2 new batteries, a new awning and a new flat screen tv with a new DVD player

Since blogger is such a PITA, I am copying most of this post from Stumpy's blog and she'll lead the tour. I'll also add a few pictures that weren't shared on Stumpy's blog.

"Come on in! Wipe your paws and take off your shoes, please."

"Here's my couch!"

"It looks much better with me, on it! Don't you think? It's great that we're both blue!"

"We've got a couple of chairs. They're grey, but we still match pretty good."

"Here's what it looks like from the back looking to the front."

"Here's where we will eat (if it's raining)"

"Where's dinner! I'm hungry!"

"Here's where my slave/chauffeur makes my food and does the dishes."

"I don't know what all goes on in here, the door is usually closed"

"Oh! And here's where I, the Navigator-In-Chief sits!"

Miscellaneous pictures

I have no idea when we'll hit the road, permanently. I am hoping for January but I need to replenish my savings so we have an emergency funds and a cushion. We will be attending RTR2012, for sure!

As I said, blogger has been horrible, for months now. We still read your posts and comment when we can, when blogger lets us. At some point I'll probably open a wordpress blog :( and combine two of my blogs. I'll keep you posted. Comments are still closed, because I can't respond to your comments (ON MY OWN FREAKING BLOG; NOT EVEN ANONOMOUSLY!!!!) Spellcheck is not working either, so forgive any mistakes, please. Maybe I should say anymore than usual.

I'm going home
And when I want to go home, I'm going mobile
Well I'm gonna find a home on wheels, see how it feels,
Goin' mobile
Keep me moving

I can pull up by the curb,
I can make it on the road,
Goin' mobile
I can stop in any street
And talk with people that we meet
Goin' mobile

Keep me moving
Out in the woods
Or in the city
It's all the same to me
When I'm driving free
The world's my home
When I'm mobile

Play the tape machine
Make the toast and tea
When I'm mobile

Well, I can lay in bed with only highway ahead
When I'm mobile
Keep me moving

Keep me moving
Over fifty
Keep me groovin'
Just a hippie gypsy
Come on move now

Movin'
Keep me movin' yeah
Keep me movin', movin', movin', yeah
Movin' yeah
Mobile, mobile, mobile, mobile....

I don't care about pollution
I'm an air-conditioned gypsy
That's my solution
Watch the police and the taxman miss me!
I'm mobile!
Mobile, mobile, mobile, yeah

  1. Hi there! I don't know why your blog isn't updating in my blogroll, but it's not alone in this misbehavior. Maybe you should post again to see if it pops back into line!

How are you and Dora getting along?

  2. You haven't been updating on my blogroll, I had the same issue, but it was MY fault. I cut/paste some photos back in August and that stopped the updating from that point on. So frustrating.

Glad I've found you again and will go back and read the posts I missed.

Theo is so nice, congratulations! She looks really clean and comfortable. She's going to be great on the road. Thanks for the photos, looking forward to more posts on your adventures. :)

  5. Thanks for the heads up on the blogger issues and for the well wishes! Blogger has been killing me for months. Posting, commenting on others blogs, even having a reading list different issues that arise daily. One minute everything is fine the next minute, "POOF" I have nothing. Tried every suggestion and am in the process of combining my blogs and moving them over to wordpress. Although I am not very motivated, at the moment, I admit. The problems have sucked the fun right out of blogging.

In other news, Theo appears to be very happy. the logisitcs of getting her to the RV place for a thorough check up have been tricky and since I blew my wad on her purchase it hasn't been an issue. I hope to get her there next week. After which we will head down to the lake or fiver (Mead, Havasu/Colorado for a week or so to road and camp test her.

The next trip out will probably be Q. I was shooting for full-timing by then, but realistically it will probably be April or May because I need to save some $$$ for an emergency cushion.

    Thanks, again, for checking in!

    OH!
    and P.S.
When blogger lets me have a reading list, I do read all your blogs...I comment when I can!

  6. Congrats on the RV!!! I know you are having Blogger issues (same here - hope this will post. If I come out "anonymous", it's me - Kim i.e. Kimbopolo).

How exciting for you! Stumpy looks so regal in the new home!

Can't wait till you leave Dirtville and start your adventures.

  9. Ask Stumpy if she would like to be one of the winged fairy dogs in my book that keeps watch over Sanitee Glenn. It this posts, it will be a first I think, blogger has allowed me to say anything on your blogs.

  10. Congrats on Theo!

We have a 1987 Winnebago. Yeah it's retro and not show-room new but it has good bones and most importantly character! We travel with dogs so the first thing I did was rip out the carpet and put down vinyl. Right now we're doing a tacky makeover inside. Gosh I can't wait to get back on the road!
